Meet the Delegation Leadership
The Executive Steering Committee
The Executive Steering Committee serves as the highest ranking committee within the OU Delegation. They are responsible for selecting the Senators and Representatives, for confirming all appointments made by the Delegation Chairperson, and have the authority to adjudicate all OIL civil issues brought against an OIL member and OU- OIL. It is comprised of the five most senior elected positions: Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson, Treasurer, Secretary, and the Member-At-Large.
Delegation Chairperson: Heather MishketAssumed Office: April 15th 2016
Term Ends: April 2017 Bio: My name is Heather Mishket! I’m a Junior majoring in Political Science with a minor in Constitutional Studies. I preside in the House while we are at session. A fun fact about me is that I am not allowed to donate blood because I was born in Germany during the Mad Cow Disease. I would love to meet with anyone if you have any questions about what we do or just want to talk politics! Constitutional Duties: The duties of the delegation Chairperson are to call and preside over the delegation meetings, to call special meetings, to be the official representative of OIL on all occasions, and to nominate all appointed positions in the delegation with the advice and voted majority approval of the Steering Committee. Further duties include co- signing all official delegation transactions and the administration of the executive cabinet. The Chairperson shall serve as the chairperson of the Steering Committee and all other special committees. |
Delegation Vice-Chairperson: Kaylee RainsAssumed Office: April 15th 2016
Term Ends: April 2017 Bio: My name is Kaylee Rains. I’m a senior Political Science major in the Accelerated Masters program of Public Administration and I also am double minoring in Constitutional Studies and Spanish. I am in the Senate. My fun fact is that I have a pit bull puppy named Emma. Constitutional Duties: The duties of the Vice-Chairperson are to preside over the OIL delegation meetings in the absence of the Chairperson, to assist the Chairperson at all times, and to serve as vice-chairperson of the Steering Committee. |
Delegation Treasurer: Kimberley BishopAssumed Office: April 15th 2016
Term Ends: April 2017 Bio: My name is Kim Bishop! I am a senior Political Science, Constitutional Studies double major and in the Accelerated Masters program in Public Administration. I am in the Senate and I really enjoy it! A fun fact about me is that I am a dual citizen of the United States and Canada, and I became a U.S. citizen only 9 years ago! Constitutional Duties: The duties of the Treasurer are to collect all membership fees, to sign all OIL checks (with the consent and co-signature of the Chairperson), to maintain an OIL checking account, to pay all necessary fees to the state organization, to maintain accurate financial records, to submit a Treasurer's report upon the request of the Chairperson, and to serve on the Steering Committee. |
Delegation Secretary: Vanessa Meraz

Term Ends: April 2017 Bio: My name is Vanessa Meraz! I am a 2nd year majoring in Political Science with a dual minor in Constitutional Studies and Spanish. I serve in the House of Representatives. A fun fact about me is that I can do handstand at the peak of the Arbuckle Mountains (: I’m the secretary of the OU Delegation so please reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns! Constitutional Duties: The duties of the Secretary are to keep roll of all delegates, to record minutes of delegation meetings and Steering Committee meetings, and to assist the Chairperson with requests by the state organization |
Delegation Member-At-Large: Ryan Gately

Term Ends: April 2017 Bio: My name is Ryan Gately and I am a junior computer science major. I am in the Senate while at Session! I have also served as the Secretary of State for OIL 2015-2016. Constitutional Duties: To serve on the Steering Committee as the one (1) member elected by the body for a one (1) year term. |
The Executive Cabinet
The Executive Cabinet serves as arms of the Delegation Chairperson. It is comprised of Delegation Directors, which have all been appointed to their positions by the Chairperson, and approved by the Executive Steering Committee. Their duties, if not defined in the constitution, are assigned by the Chairperson after their appointment and approval.
Delegation Director of Legislation: Taylor Kelling

Term Ends: April 2017 Bio: My name is Taylor Kelling, and I am a senior Political Science major with a minor in National Security. I’m happy to be in the House. I served 10 years in the US Air Force which I am very happy about. Delegation Director of Philanthropy: Tessa Martin

Term Ends: April 2017 Bio: My name is Tessa Martin and I am a junior majoring in Criminology while on the Pre-Law track. I am double minoring in Political Science and Psychology! While at session I am in the House. This past summer I had an internship at the Texas State Capitol under Representative Ryan Guillen. My fun fact is that I collect John Cena Action figures. Delegation Directors of Recruitment: Sanah Lalani & Gabby Koch

Terms End: April 2017 Bios: Sanah My name is Sanah Lalani and I am a sophomore at the University of Oklahoma. I currently serve as the Director of Recruitment for O.I.L. I am a member of the House of Representatives during session because I'm a pretty energetic and outspoken individual. A fun fact about me is that I've been on a five-day backpacking trip in Colorado!
